OPP say teen brought imitation firearm to Erin District High School

Police say the student at Erin District High School who was arrested Thursday was in fact carrying an imitation firearm.

Wellington County OPP started investigating after school staff reported a 16-year-old was openly telling people he had a weapon.

Officers arrived and arrested the boy – but now say it wasn’t an actual gun.

The Erin teen has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, assault, and uttering threats. He remains in custody.
