Car stolen in Waterloo found near Elliot Lake, two women arrested

A bizarre case in northern Ontario has a local connection.

East Algoma OPP say they responded to a single vehicle crash in the Township of North Shore Sunday afternoon.

Police say two women were in the vehicle and a good Samaritan stopped and let them sit in his vehicle.

Police say when he got out of the vehicle, they allegedly stole it.

It was later located by police and two females were arrested.

Police say it turns out the vehicle they were in that was involved in the crash was actually stolen from Waterloo.

Police say a 20-year-old Kitchener woman faces a slew of charges, including theft, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.

OPP say a 29-year-old woman was taken to a Sudbury hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
