Historic $60-million lottery win could turn N.L. group into millionaires

By The Canadian Press

Social media is abuzz about a history-making $60-million lottery win that will apparently make a group of people in Newfoundland and Labrador instant millionaires.

An Atlantic Lottery Corportation spokesperson says whoever purchased the winning ticket in Newfoundland and Labrador will take home the biggest prize Atlantic Canada has ever seen.

Tracy Shute says the corporation has been contacted by a group who believes they won the Lotto Max draw, but cannot reveal more information until a security process is complete.

Social media users are cracking jokes that jobs are about to open up in a tiny town on Newfoundland’s Avalon peninsula.

The general manager of PTL Services, which according to its website has a contract with North Atlantic Refining in Come By Chance, N.L., says in a text message that “we are very happy for all of the workers.”

Lloyd Parrott says he has no further comment at this time.
