Winter Games profile: Laurier grad. John Morris

John Morris was golden at the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

Morris was on the Canadian men’s curling team that went 11 and 0, taking the gold medal.

This time, the Wilfrid Laurier University graduate will compete in the mixed doubles with Kaitlyn Lawes.

“…I could have never of dreamt to be going to two Olympics now, I feel fortunate and really lucky, curling has done really good things for myself and my family.” said Morris.

Morris and Lawes recently did some training at the K-W Granite Club in Waterloo.

“To me, this is what a curling club should be. It’s cozy, they’ve got people here that care, they treat everyone here equally and fair.” added Morris.

Morris and Lawes open their Olympics tonight against Norway.
