Police arrest fraudster accused of stealing $600K from investors

Regional Police have arrested one man they say bilked investors out of $600,000.

They say a 65-year-old Toronto man, who is a former resident of Kitchener, has been arrested.

Police allege the accused defrauded 24 clients between January 2011 and August 2014.

Some of the victims include several people nearing the age of retirement.

The complex investigation took two years to complete.

It started after one of the victims filed a complaint with Waterloo Regional Police.

The accused is charged with fraud over $5,000, theft, identity theft, forgery and money laundering.
