Elora natives set to appear on Dragons’ Den next month

Three brothers from Elora are getting the chance to pitch their business to the country’s most coveted investors.

Jesse, Luke, and Mason Hambly are set to appear on an upcoming episode of Dragons’ Den.

Jesse tells 570NEWS they created Pressa Bottles two years ago as an alternative to buying sugary drinks, after realizing how inefficient it is to infuse water by simply squeezing a lemon. Their glass and plastic bottles are built with a manual-powered juice press.

He says he was initially very nervous to pitch to the Dragons.

“It was actually a lot of fun. We were in there for about an hour and a half actually talking with them, and you only get maybe a five-to-eight minute segment on TV,” he says. “I’d definitely do it again.”

Hambly of course can’t say if they struck a deal, but adds there are other reasons why their business is attractive.

“Number one thing that every one kind of has a problem with is capital … We did a really good job at trying to not spend,” says Hambly. “It slowed us down a little bit, but it’s worthwhile once you get to right now, when we don’t have a massive amount of debt.”

The episode airs on CBC, February 1st at 8 p.m.
