A big bust for OPP in Simcoe – as their officers have now made the largest fentanyl seizure to date.
Both the Norfolk and Haldimand County Street Crime Units searched a home on Head Street North on Thursday.
In total, investigators seized $30,000 in fentanyl, $7,000 in cocaine, and $3,500 in cash.
Two men and two women have been arrested and charged; a 23-year-old from Toronto, 20-year-old from Norfolk County, and two 21-year-olds with no fixed address.
All are set to appear in Simcoe court at a later date.
In a release, Inspector Lisa Anderson with Norfolk County OPP says this is the largest fentanyl seizure their detachment has made to date.
“This single, and first illicit drug seizure of 2018, if not intercepted, could have seen Fentanyl in the hands of over 550 Norfolk residents. Our officers saved hundreds of lives as a direct result of taking this dangerous drug off our streets. The OPP remains strongly committed to work within all of our communities across the province to stem the tide of illicit drugs.”
