Two charged with impaired during Festive R.I.D.E. conducted by WRPS

Two people are facing impaired driving charges.

Waterloo Regional Police nabbed them during their Festive R.I.D.E. program between December 1st and January 1st.

Police say they checked almost 2,000 vehicles during that period and did almost 40 roadside breathalyzer tests.

But officers laid 95 charges under the Highway Traffic Act, 15 motorists had their licence’s suspended.

Police say R.I.D.E. programs are conducted several times throughout the year as a visible reminder to motorists to not drive impaired.
