$300,000 worth of drugs seized from home and business in Cambridge

A Cambridge couple has been arrested and charged in connection with a massive drug trafficking investigation.

Our local detachment of the RCMP searched a home on Hawthorne Drive, and a business on Montrose Street on Wednesday.

Officers seized nearly $300,000 worth of drugs through that search — including 50 pounds of marijuana, and seven pounds of a cannabinoid called ‘Shatter’.

Police also discovered $39,000 in cash, and three vehicles — valued at $100,000.

42-year-old Buddy Franck Jr. and 46-year-old Gertrude Tracey Hann of Cambridge have been charged with numerous offences, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The pair are set to appear in Kitchener court on January 19.

In a release, Sgt. Fuhrman with the Kitchener RCMP detachment thanks Waterloo Regional Police for their assistance with this investigation.

“The RCMP is committed to protecting the community from the threats of illegal drug trafficking and associated illegal activities such possession of property obtained by crime and money laundering.”

Anyone with further information on this investigation is urged to contact Regional Police, the RCMP, or Crime Stoppers.
