Fatal house fire near Ailsa Craig under investigation

An investigation is underway after a fatal house fire near the Village of Ailsa Craig.
Middlesex County OPP and the North Middlesex Fire Department were called to the home on Queen Street around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
They say the home was fully engulfed by flames by the time they arrived, and neighbouring residents had to be evacuated as a result.
Once crews entered the home, they found one adult deceased inside. They have not been identified yet, but OPP say three pets were also killed.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and Office of the Chief Coroner have been called in, as the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
