Santa has a new route this year.
The Lions Club of Kitchener Santa Claus Parade will roll down Weber Street at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, starting at Frederick, and ending at Erb.
The Lion’s Club Citizen of the Year and Olympic boxer Mandy Bujold is the Grand Marshal at this year’s parade.
Organizers tell 570 NEWS that 60 floats will be in the parade this year, along with eight bands, including the Burlington Teen Tour Band – 220 strong.
There are also some local bands too.
Vista Hills Public School will do a drumline, and the Kitchener group Northstars Drum Corps are also in the parade.
Over 100 high school volunteers decked out in costume will be there to help out, and Canada Post letter carriers will be gathering your letters to Santa.
Parade Chair Vic Bovingdon tells 570 NEWS that Santa is very excited to return to our Region.
He says Mrs. Claus won’t be with him on Saturday, as she is busy making cookies for the elves.
Santa rests up for his appearance down Hespeler Road in Cambridge over the supper hour, starting at 6:00 p.m. by the mall.
Santa is also in Guelph this weekend – that parade starts tomorrow at 1:30 pm in the downtown core.
