Police search for suspect after attempted break and enter at Guelph home

One man has been arrested, and another is still wanted after Guelph Police spoiled a break-and-enter at an Edinburgh Road home.

Around 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, an officer patrolling the streets in the Royal City saw two men hunched over on a front porch.

When he approached, one man took off on foot, another on a bike, leaving behind a duffel bag full of break-in tools, copper wire, and piping.

The man who fled on foot was arrested, and the 39-year old is now facing a number of charges, including Possession of Break-In Instruments, and Possession of Identity Documents.

Police are still searching for the man who took off on the bike.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Guelph Police or Crime Stoppers.
