25 Days of Hope kicks off for Family and Children’s Services of Waterloo Region

For 25 years Chym 96.7 has teamed up with Family and Children’s Services of Waterloo Region to host the Chym ‘Tree of Hope Radiothon”

To celebrate the quater century mark the two organizations have launch the first ever 25 Days of Hope campaign starting today.

The 25 day long campaign will feature online activities, facts and information about Family and Children’s Services and prize give.

The 25 days wraps up on December with the Chym Tree of Hope RadioThon.

Since the event was created in 1992 it has experienced immense growth.

In 1992 the event raised less than $2,000.

Last year’s event raised over $240,000 for Family and Children’s Services.

A large portion of the money raised goes to scholarships for youth in their care.

Over 25 years they have granted 498 scholarships and average about 50 each year.
