Students at Conestoga College plan rally for Monday

Students at Conestoga College plan to hold a rally on Monday to show support for those that have been affected by the almost four-week long strike.

A Facebook group called Conestoga Students Rally has been formed, and is asking students to come together at the Doon Campus to express their concerns.

A post states that the rally is not an attack on either side of the bargaining table, but rather a way to ensure that students’ voices are also being heard.

It comes as Ontario’s Labour Relations Board has set a date for a vote on the College Council’s final offer to striking faculty – balloting will take place online from Tuesday to Thursday.

The Conestoga Rally is happening at the college’s Doon Campus starting at 11 a.m. Monday morning.

You can read the group’s full Facebook post below.

“We are holding a rally at the College on Monday in support of Conestoga students who are affected by the strike. This is strictly an effort to have our voices heard and express our concerns over the impact that the strike will have on our education and our future careers. This is not an attack on either side of the bargaining table, but rather a way to ensure that the students are also being heard. If you would like to come out and have your say, we will be meeting tomorrow (Friday) at 10 a.m. in the Agora (main floor of the F wing) to prepare.”
