Cambridge roundabout closed Friday after tractor trailer disconnects

A busy roundabout in Cambridge was shut down Friday morning after an incident with a tractor trailer.

Regional Police say it happened around 8:30 a.m. at Franklin Boulevard and Clyde Road.

The vehicle was travelling through the roundabout when the trailer disconnected from the tractor, and came to rest on the southwest corner of the roadway.

The roundabout had to be shut down for about an hour as crews responded to the scene.

Police say a 45-year-old Guelph man has been charged with two Highway Traffic Act offences relating to the unsafe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
