Exercise: The key to getting through the effects of the time change

Although you gained an hour of sleep this morning, you may still feel the effects of the time change.

Lisa Hammill is a personal trainer in Cambridge and says exercise is a great way to help your body get through the transition.

One of the ways is helping you sleep better at night.

“Exercise is a great way to help keep you on track. Spending that extra energy throughout the day will help you sleep better at night.”

Hammill says exercise can also help improve your mood and help those who suffer from seasonal affective disorder.

She adds, regular exercise can also boost your energy as physical activity increases heart rate, circulation, and mental focus as we typically stay indoors and watch TV, eat and drink more, and be less active during the winter months.
