Toronto Police say a call they received about a person with a gun was a false alarm.
A large team of officers, including the emergency task force, responded to a building near King Street West and Peter Street, east of Spadina Avenue, around 1 p.m. Thursday.
They had got a tip about a person with a gun who had possibly forced someone into a building at 365 King St. W.
Police treated the incident as real and followed emergency protocol, but after entering the building and finding no one with a gun, they determined it was a false alarm.
Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook said the building is clear and there is no immediate danger.
Police are not looking for any suspects.
King Street was reopened to traffic shortly after 4 p.m.
