A new location for the proposed Cambridge multiplex will likely extend debate on the issue.
The President and CEO of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce tells 570 NEWS, talks have been quietly going on about the possibility of the Cambridge Centre Mall becoming the location.
Greg Durocher says it will attract people to the mall and also offers up a central location.
“This is a wonderful example of how business and the community can work together to achieve its’ goal…and settle some issues that were burning.”
Durocher says it’s now up to council to decide whether or not to put the mall location on the table.
“If you want something central in the city, like this, you can’t get more central than Cambridge Centre Mall. It’s just about in the cross-hairs of the city.” added Durocher.
The final location issue comes up again at council on Monday, October 2nd.
The following five locations were short-listed back in December:
-220 Pinebush Road
-261 Hespeler Road
-112 Pinebush Road
-850 Fountain Road
-Franklin and Savage Drive
