Regional Police say a young cyclist is in critical condition after colliding with a flatbed truck,
Police tell 570 NEWS the 12 year old boy was transported to a trauma centre outside of Waterloo Region.
The crash happened around 10 a.m., when a northbound truck from Hespeler and Can-Amera collided with a boy who was riding on the sidewalk.
Srgt. Stu Church with Regional Police tells 570 News how the incident happened
“The first young crossed in front of the tractor trailer, the second cyclist ran into the side of the trailor as the truck was making a right hand turn.”
East bound lanes on Can-Amera Parkway were closed for the afternoon between Hespeler Road and Conestoga Boulevard but have since reopened.
Regional Police confirmed to 570 News that charges are pending.
