Cambridge woman charged with indignity to a body convicted of unrelated drug charges

A 29-year-old Cambridge woman charged with indignity to a body has been convicted of unrelated drug charges.

The Record Online reports that Desiree McNeil has been found guilty of possession of heroin and meth for the purpose of trafficking.

The charges date back to an incident in November 2015, where police arrested McNeil and four others at a large detached garage on First Avenue in Cambridge.

Inside the garage, police found more than 315 grams of heroin and 12 grams of meth, amounting to a street value of $98,000.

Last week, McNeil was charged with an indignity offence after the body of a man was found in a farm field in North Dumfries in early July.

The death is considered suspicious based on where the body was found.

Investigators are still waiting for the toxicology tests to determine the cause of the man’s death.
