Cambridge Arts Festival brings art, technology to City Hall for 22nd year

For the 22nd year, the Cambridge Arts Festival has set-up shop at Cambridge City Hall.

The festival brings together art and technology for the community, including local musicians, art installations, and a popular maker-lab.

The maker lab allows festival-goers to experience robotics, interactive video art, 3D printing, wrestling robots and virtual reality technology.

New this year is an interactive life-size book installation that depicts popular Cambridge landmarks, which the community can have a hand in adding to.

“We also have a thing called the CAF Passport, and so basically you get a passport, and the kids have to go to each activity at the festival and participate. When they participate, they get their card stamped. When they fill out that card, they can go to the InfoBooth, and they get to pick out a prize. And we’ve actually custom-made our own little take-away kits, they’re DIY kits,” explains Co-Chair for the Festival, Gareth Carr.

Local musicians on the E-Bolt music stage includes the Warrior Band, Adam Munce, Blue Future and Runaway Nation.

The event runs from 10 am to 6 pm.

A road closure is in effect as well, Dickson Street will be closed from Wellington Street to Ainslie Street.
