Two local hospitals receiving millions in funding from the province

Our local hospitals are getting a big boost from our provincial government to revitalize their facilities.

Normally, Grand River Hospital receives around $1.5M in funding for infrastructure investments but this year, the hospital is getting $3.4M

Spokesperson for Grand River Hospital, Mark Karjaluoto tells 570 NEWS that the funding is going to things like patient care rooms, new flooring, plumbing upgrades, and roof upgrades. “Our hospital’s buildings are not really that new, and although they’be been renovated and expanded over the years, there’s no such thing as a fountain of youth for hospitals.”

St. Mary’s Hospital is getting $1.1M

Queen’s Park is investing $175M in repairs and upgrades to hospitals this year through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund.
