Police are out with a warning after a 94-year-old Guelph woman was taken advantage of.

The fraudulent incident dates back to April, but Guelph Police are now looking into the possibility of more victims.

Kimberley Haines faces charges including fraud over $5,000 and uttering a forged document.

The 44-year-old was arrested on Wednesday and police say she owns Kimberley’s Cleaning Service.

Buzz Dean with Guelph Police says the personal service industry is very popular especially for the elderly, but it may also put them at risk as people have access to their homes. “People in need are reaching out to different services to help them, unfortunately it leaves them in a very vulnerable position to be taken advantage of in one way or another.”

He says police are unsure if this was a targeted incident, or if there are more victims, as the woman had access to multiple homes.
