Members of the Detroit Lions will be on hand at Cameron Heights Collegiate Field this afternoon running drills with kids for NFL Play 60.
Tammy Johnson with NFL Canada says it’s a great way to get kids excited about getting active.
“It’s a message that parents and teachers alike seem to gravitate to because it’s teaching kids to be physically active.”
Johnson adds the program is meant to promote 60 minutes of activity a day.
“This is all about getting kids to participate in sport, however that may be, for at least 60 minutes a day.”
The NFL partnered up with a number of teams including; the Chicago Bears, the Houston Texans, the Kansas City Chiefs, the New Orleans Saints, the Seattle Seahawks, the New England Patriots, and the Atlanta Falcons along with the Detroit Lions for PLAY 60 events across the country this summer.
The event takes place at Cameron Heights Collegiate Field and is open to the public from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
