20-year-old college student seriously injured after crash on Homer Watson Blvd

A serious crash early Thursday morning has closed a portion of Homer Watson Blvd.

Regional Police say a single vehicle collision at Homer Watson Blvd and Huron Rd sent the lone occupant to a local hospital.

The 20 year-old Conestoga College student was then air lifted to a Hamilton hospital with serious injuries.

Police say he is now in stable condition.

Waterloo Regional Police Traffic branch is on scene investigating the crash, saying it is too early to determine the cause.

Westbound lanes on Homer Watson Blvd are closed between Pioneer Dr and Manitou Dr, with one eastbound lane heading towards the 401 still open to traffic.

There is no known re-opening time, but police are warning this could be a lengthy closure.
