A major stretch of road is shut down through Wellesley Township following a serious two-vehicle crash.
Staff Sgt. Mike Hinsperger says it happened at Lobsinger and Moser Young just after noon.
“Two vehicles were involved, both pick-up trucks. One was carrying a trailer containing cattle, and one animal did have to be euthanized by veterinary services.”
Hinsperger says an air ambulance was called in to transport one of the drivers to a nearby hospital.
“An elderly man was taken by air ambulance to the hospital, and the extent of his injuries and current condition are currently unknown.”
Hinsperger says crews remain on scene as they repair a hydro pole, and officers are conducting an investigation to try and determine the cause of the crash.
The roadway is expected to be closed until late Thursday afternoon.
There is no current word on charges.
