Toronto Police have released security images of suspects wanted in connection with eight armed robberies of fast food restaurants in the city’s west end.

Eight restaurants were robbed between March 14 and April 11 — primarily located east of Hwy 27, west of Weston Road, and close to Finch Avenue West. According to police, the robberies usually occurred between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Police said some stores were robbed by one to three, all from the same group.

During the robberies, it’s alleged a man armed with a lever-action-style BB gun entered the premises, removed the gun from the front of his pants and demanded money.

“In each one of these cases, the individuals would enter the premises. One would jump over the counter (and) take control of the clerk,” Staff Insp. Mike Earl explained.

Police said a second man vaulted over the counter and proceeded to remove cash from the register. In one robbery, the man allegedly grabbed an employee by the hair and forced her to the cash register.

In some circumstances, the men allegedly robbed the customers who were present during the robbery. Before leaving the restaurant, one man hid the firearm down his pants.

“These lever-action losers need to be apprehended before they actually shoot somebody’s eye out,” Earl explained.

“This BB gun — Red Ryder — is known to break skin and cause serious bodily harm.”

Police said the men concealed their faces by wearing a grey, full-face mask and a black half-face mask.

“The Toronto police Hold Up Squad is looking for help to get these hoodlums off the streets. Any assistance you can provide in identifying these individuals would be much appreciated,” said Earl.

Police have released security video of the robberies, as well as photos of the suspects.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact authorities at 416-808-7350.
