Expect a wet and stormy Saturday throughout Waterloo Region as Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch.
The national weather authority warns that thunderstorms are expected to arrive sometime this afternoon, and they may persist into the evening.
They warn that storms like these can produce up to nickel-size hail, strong wind gusts, and heavy downpours.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management reminds us to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. They say lightning kills and injures Canadians every year, and to remember that when ‘thunder roars, go indoors!’.
The watch is also in effect in Guelph, Wellington County, Erin, Arthur, and Mount Forest.
