Overnight closures of King and Eagle intersection in Cambridge starts Monday

Road work is set to begin at the intersection of King and Eagle in Cambridge but it will be better for drivers.

Council has decided to change the original plan of shutting the busy intersection down for four days to instead have four separate overnight closures beginning Monday from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. daily until June 22.

The intersection was initially set to shut down Friday, but it was pushed back to allow for work on Speedsville Rd to wrap up and for it to reopen to traffic.

Now that Speedsville Rd is open, the closures at King and Eagle can go ahead.

The full reconstruction of the Fountain Street Shantz Hill and King Street area will continue for about another year.

Once completed the area will have new bike lanes, wider streets and new sidewalks.
