Waterloo Regional Police welcoming the public for open house

If you’ve ever wondered what goes on behind the Waterloo Regional Police headquarter’s doors, you can now find out.

Saturday, May 13 is their open house, and will include information booths, live music, a BBQ, and lots of activities for the children.

“We have our Drug Branch, our Domestic Violence Unit, our Identification Branch, our Emergency Response officers, as well as our Traffic Branch will be there to do demonstrations,” explains Inspector Mike Haffner.

This open house kicks off Police-Week, with the theme being, “Working Together for Safer Communities.”

“The most important part of us opening our doors is to have those people in our community get a glimpse of even our building, be able talk to those officers at booths, to provide information about what they do on a day-to-day basis, and to have that conversation and answer those questions, and feel that they understand at least a little bit, what our organization does on a day-to-day basis,” adds Inspector Haffner.

Admission is free, but they will be accepting non-perishable food donations for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

The open house runs from 10 am to 3 pm at their headquarters, at 200 Maple Grove Road in Cambridge.
