3 in hospital after GO bus crashes with truck on Hwy. 401 in Toronto

By News Staff

Three people were taken to hospital after a GO Transit bus collided with a transport truck on Highway 401.

The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes near Keele Street around 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

The bus, which was carrying 39 passengers, was travelling from Square One to the Finch GO terminal. Three passengers received minor injuries.

Metrolinx spokeswoman Anne Marie Aikens said the truck sideswiped the driver’s side of the bus as the bus was exiting the highway at Keele.

The bus was heavily damaged and many of the windows were broken.

Aikens says that if it wasn’t for the experienced bus driver, the injuries could have been a lot worse.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
