Ontario Provincial Police say deaths from motor-vehicle collisions are at a four-year high

Ontario Provincial Police say deaths from motor-vehicle collisions are at a four-year high.

OPP say last year, 307 people were killed in crashes– which is up from 301 in 2015.

Along with motor-vehicle deaths, snowmobile deaths are on the rise.

There were 12 of those alone in February, with 26 total for the year.

Police say over half of the incidents they see on our roads and highways are caused by drivers who are distracted, impaired, or aggressive.

As always, they’re reminding us to give yourself extra time, slow down, and keep your eyes focused while behind the wheel.
