Kitchener couple facing charges in connection with an international drug bust

A Kitchener couple has plead guilty to trying to export fentanyl from China into the U-S.

The U-S Attorney’s office says Karl and Sorina Morrison crossed the border and collected four packages containing the drug with the intent to send them back into Canada.

All four packages were seized and the couple was arrested as they drove back into our country.

The 59-year-old Kitchener man faces a maximum of 20 years behind bars and a fine of up to one million dollars.

His wife faces three years in prison, with a fine of up to 250-thousand dollars.

The Morrisons are scheduled to be sentenced in Buffalo court in July.
