St. Agatha School to close this summer

It’s the end of the line for St. Agatha School.

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board has voted to close the school when summer arrives.

It’s been on the chopping block on several occasions over the past three years, but this time trustees did not grant it a reprieve.

St. Agatha has only 82 students, making it the board’s smallest school.

It also needs $3.4-million in repairs.

Current students will either attend St. Clement Catholic School in St. Clements or Holy Rosary Catholic Elementary School in Waterloo in the fall.
