Rally being planned for Kitchener man, shot dead by police in 2015

The family of a Kitchener man, fatally shot by Waterloo Regional Police, says they are still searching for answers.

Beau Baker’s mother is planning a rally for Monday, April 3rd at Kitchener City Hall.

The 20-year-old was shot outside his Brybeck Crescent home over the Easter weekend in 2015.

The Record reports the Baker family say they feel police used excessive force when he was shot seven times.

A Special Investigations Unit probe cleared the officer involved, but there will be a coroner’s inquest.

In 2016, the family filed a $6-million civil suit against the Waterloo Regional Police Service.
