Multiple charges laid after string of car thefts in Waterloo Region

Charges have been laid in connection with a string of car thefts in Waterloo Region.

Police say they began investigating on March 17th after three vehicles were stolen from different locations throughout our region, and were believed to be linked.

With some help from the Peel Regional Auto Theft Unit, a pair in Brampton were arrested on Wednesday after they were allegedly found to be in possession of one of the stolen vehicles.

A 33-year-old Kitchener man and 32-year-old Brampton woman face numerous theft, stolen property, and drug-related charges.

Police say they expect to lay more charges as their investigation is still ongoing.
