Attack pound Rangers in final game of season

The Kitchener Rangers ended their 2016-17 campaign with a 7-2 loss to the Owen Sound Attack. The finish the season with 36 wins, 27 losses, including three overtime losses and two shootout losses.

The man advantage proved the difference for the Attack, who captialized on five of six power plays.

Rangers’ goals came from Riley Damiani and Liam Peyton. Peyton’s goal was his first in the OHL.

Kitchener’s Luke Richardson was busy in between the pipes for the East Ave Blue, stopping 39 of 46 shots.

The Blueshirts finish sixth in their conference and will face whoever finishes third.

The Owen Sound Attack play Guelph Sunday and if they pick up a single point in that game, they’ll play the Rangers in round one regardless of the Knights’ game.

The only way the Rangers will face the Knights is if Owen Sound loses in regulation and the Knights win their game against Sault Ste. Marie.
