Rangers fall to Greyhounds in final regular season series

The Kitchener Rangers were outplayed and outscored by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 6-1 Friday night.

The two teams could potentially meetup in the first round of the playoffs but last night was nothing like their first three meetings this season.

Rangers’ Goalie Luke Richardson started between the pipes where he gave up five goals on 18 shots in the first two perioids of play. Richardson was pulled and Luke Opilka returned for the third, allowing one goal while making 10 saves.

Kitchener’s only goal on the night came from Joe Garreffa.

Waterloo native Boris Katchouk tallied two goals. SOO’s Barret Hayton added three helpers.

Next up for the Rangers, a date with the Firebirds in Flint Saturday night at 7 p.m.
