Suspected fentanyl seized, Kitchener man facing charges

A Kitchener man is facing charges in connection with a massive drug bust on Victoria Street.

Detective Ian Young with Regional Police says a drug trafficking investigation led them to a home on Victoria early Wednesday morning, where numerous drugs including meth, crack, morphine, and suspected fentanyl were seized.

“Yesterday’s investigation was a two-week investigation into a male who was trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine in the Victoria Street area of Kitchener. As a result of the investigation, we arrested the male, and he has been charged with two counts of trafficking, five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and breach of probation.”

Young adds that the street value of the drugs is estimated at $3,000.

Police say a 41-year-old faces multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking.

“We’d also just like to share that this is the second investigation this week where we’ve seized suspected fentanyl. We just want to make sure everyone is aware of the dangerous that come with the use of fentanyl, and the dangers it poses on our community,” said Young.
