Wellington County OPP wake snoozing motorist, lay impaired charges

A Guelph-Eramosa Township man faces charges after police found him asleep at the wheel while still on the road.
Wellington County OPP got the call a bit after 6:00 a.m. Friday morning on Wellington Road 50 near the Seventh Line.
A passing driver called police to say the road was dark and foggy making it hard to see the vehicle whose driver appeared to be asleep.
Police responded to wake the man from his slumber and found the smell of alcohol on his breath.
The 27 year-old driver has been charged with Care or Control Impaired and Care or Control over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code.
He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on February7, 2017 to answer to his charges.
His vehicle has been impounded for seven days and licence suspended for 90 days.
