OPP have laid close to 400 impaired driving charges during Festive RIDE

The OPP’s festive R.I.D.E campaign kicked off November 21st.
Sgt. Kerry Schmidt shares some of the statistics from this year’s campaign.
There have been over 75 impaired driving charges to drivers under the age of 25 and the OPP have laid close to 400 charges since the campaign started.
They have also investigated 40 fatal collisions in 2016 that were alcohol and drug related.
Over the last two weekends of RIDE checks, a total of 214 impaired driving charges have been laid across the province.
We went on a ride along with Cambridge OPP and took one impaired driver off the road before going to a RIDE check where another driver refused to provide a breath sample.
