Two men stabbed at Waterloo house party, one in critical condition

Waterloo Regional Police responded to a call around 3 a.m. on Sunday morning to find that two men had been stabbed.

After an investigation they determined that a fight had broken out between two groups of men and one of them had a knife.

One of the groups had left a house party on Pinemeadow Crescent and returned later with the weapon.

The two men who were stabbed were 31 and 33 years old, with one being sent to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the other was airlifted to a Hamilton hospital where he is now in critical but stable condition.

Several other people required minor medical attention, and several males have been arrested and are facing charges.

Staff Sergeant Deborah McBride says the two groups of men were known to each other and there is no concern for public safety.

“Because all parties knew each other, we don’t feel that there’s any risk to parties outside of the incident itself.”
