Guelph man charged with stunt driving in vehicle with two sets of licence plates

Police say a man is facing charges after officers followed a car that ended up travelling more than twice the speed limit in Guelph.

Investigators say they started following the vehicle late Wednesday morning when they saw that it had two separate licence plates, and it increased its speed to 137 kilometres per hour in a 60 km/h zone.

They say the driver lost control of the vehicle, and it came to rest in a ditch.

Investigators say the licence plates weren’t registered to the vehicle, and they arrested 25-year-old Denis Hepburn, who was a prohibited driver.

The Guelph man is charged with dangerous driving and possession of property obtained by crime.

Hepburn also faces traffic charges, including driving under suspension, speeding and stunt driving.
