Next year Canada will turn 150 years old.
To help celebrate the Canadian government is rolling out the Canada 150 Signature Projects to highlight some of the best our country has to offer.
The Perimeter Institute of Theoretical Physics in Waterloo is heading up Innovation 150, a look at the past, present and future of Canadian innovation.
One part of the project is the “Power of Ideas” tour that will be making about 60 stops across the country starting in Vancouver in January 2017.
This weekend, however, Perimeter will be hosting the exhibit as dress rehearsal before they take it on the road.
Greg Dick is the Director of Outreach at Perimeter Institute he says, “This exhibit is truly designed to inspire kids to show kids to see how being curious and collaborative and having the courage to try and fail is how science is progressed.” Said Dick.

Progress is a big deal to the people at Perimeter, Dick says that Canada and Waterloo are well positioned for the next 150 years to be leaders in Science and technology.
“We are really fortunate here in Canada, we have a wonderful education system we are small enough that we are young and nimble, and if we are smart and strategic as a country we can play a leading role in science and innovation.” Said Dick.
Tickets for this weekend are still available. You can find them here
