Guelph man killed in crash on 401 in Milton

A 30-year-old man from Guelph is dead after a crash between a tractor-trailer and a car on Highway 401.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes of the highway, near Guelph Line, before midnight on Wednesday.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt says road conditions likely played a factor.
“It was a mixture of rain, freezing rain and snow…Apparently the driver of the car somehow may have lost control and was struck by the transport truck.”
The westbound lanes of the highway were closed until about 7am on Thursday.
