Public school board votes to censure trustee

Trustees with the Waterloo Region District School Board have voted to censure fellow trustee Mike Ramsay.

It’s for comments he made about the board to 570 News, five months ago.

The Record says trustees voted 6-2 in favour of the reprimand, agreeing that Ramsay violated the board’s code of conduct, but imposed no punishment.

Ramsay criticized the school board during an appearance on 570’s Eric Drozd Show in May. He complained about how the board handled a code of conduct hearing.

School board chair, Kathleen Woodcock brought the charge against Ramsay.

Ramsay told 570 News on Monday morning he will not allow himself to be bullied.

“…I will continue to speak out and I will continue to inform the public as to exactly what is happening at the public school board.” said Ramsay.
