Man seriously injured in Cambridge basement fire

Cambridge fire crews responded to a house fire early Sunday morning to find the basement ablaze.
The house was located on Melrose St. in the Preston area of Cambridge.
They managed to pull a man out from inside and he was taken to a Cambridge hospital, but soon transferred to Hamilton with serious injuries.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office was called in to investigate Sunday afternoon.
The cause of the fire and estimated damages are still being determined.
