8th annual Kitchener Zombie Walk takes over downtown Kitchener

You may notice the ‘walking dead’ if you’re passing through downtown Kitchener on Saturday as the 8th Annual Kitchener Zombie Walk gets underway.

Kitchener Zombie Walk organizer Ronald Hoppe says this year’s family friendly event has more than just zombies.

“You can expect a plethora of fantastic smaller events. We have a pumpkin carving contest that is taking place prior to the walk, we’ll also have a costume contest after the walk– plus, there will be several surprises along the way that I’m currently keeping under wraps.”

Hoppe adds that the event is completely free, but they are accepting donations for our local food bank.

“The event is free but we do ask that people bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank. We always strive to reach a goal of raising 666 lbs of food each year through the walk.”

The march of the ‘undead’ starts gathering at noon in front of the Kitchener Public Library before officially taking off at 1 p.m.
