A major drug and weapons bust for Regional Police.
After searching a home on Victoria Street North and Hackberry Street in Kitchener earlier this week, they found $97,500 worth of illegal drugs.
This includes marijuana, cannabis resin, and THC edibles, including ice cream, brownies, rice krispie squares, cookies, gummies, glass candy, pancake mix, pop, tea, coffee sugar, chocolate, sour swirls, THC fruit drinks, caramel corn, nanaimo bars and lollipops.
Staff Sergeant Paul Lobsinger tells 570 News, the various forms of THC edibles are showing up more frequently in our region.
“It’s becoming more common, they are available, obviously they are illegal at this point but they are available and we are seeing more of it in the last couple of years.”
Police also found 45 replica firearms, including handguns, machine guns and sniper rifles. Some knives were also located in the homes.
Four men and two women, all from Kitchener face numerous charges.
Their ages range from 18-46 years old.
