48th Annual K-W Oktoberfest starts Friday afternoon

North America’s largest Bavarian festival officially gets underway today.
You’ll want to be in downtown Kitchener in Carl Zehr square for the 48th Annual K-W Oktoberfest opening ceremonies.
Miss Oktoberfest, Vanessa Buttinger is be there.
“There has been a lot of build up and anticipation (…) I’m just really excited to get things kicked off.”
She adds, it’s exciting to finally arrive at the opening day.
‘It’s a really, really busy day for us but it’s great because we’re out in the area and we’re doing our opening ceremonies, there’s the keg tapping, there is a tour process, it will be nice to go out and enjoy all the different fest halls tonight as well.”
Hundreds of us festing fans are expected to turn out for music and dancing over the lunch hour.
